Gregg & Kerry
Care Rated 10 out of 10
I have trained with Gregg & Kerry for several years since Gregg
first got certified. I have found the training to be very detail oriented
and Gregg and Kerry to be very safety concious. They are very patient
and able to articulate the information in their seminars in an interesting
and easily understandable manner.Gregg was able to troubleshoot for
me and help me achieve great results. Great instructors!!!!!!

Gregg and Kerry
get results. Rated 10 out of 10
My wife and I found Greg and Kerry at one of Pavel's excellent "Beyond
Stretching" workshops in San Francisco. They gave a very brief
and impressive kettlebell demonstration. Since then my wife and I
have been training with Greg and Kerry for over two years. We are
trainers also, and we were already very strong and advanced athletes,
especially my wife who is a circus performer and ex-proffessional
wrestler. We could immediately see that the kettlebell is a uniquely
effective tool and that Greg and Kerry are extremely talented instructors.
It's not just about kettlebells though. They have developed a comprehensive
and adaptable Russian/Eastern based training philosophy that exploits
the holistic nature of strength, mobility, flexibility and recovery.
Greg and Kerry use the kettlebell to find your weaknesses and then
fix them. The result is a much more versatile and efficient athlete
with outstanding all-around strength, athletic ability, and in my
opinion, a very injury-proof physique. My wife and i in turn have
become better teachers and the effect on our students has of course
been amazing. Greg and Kerry's students have the typical look of all
kettlebell users i have met, very fit and capable, their level of
strength can be shocking to an outsider.

Understated excellence Rated 9 out of 10
For my purposes, Gregg Althen, was an exemplary instructor. I originally
found kettlebells through the internet and knew nothing about them.
Through dragondoor.com, I found Gregg, locally, and made an appointment.
I wasn't interested in any sales, or individual accomplishments, just
show me the way. Gregg ran me through some flexibility moves, gauged
my strength, prescribed the right size, made sure my technique was
good enough I wouldn't be sidelined, and sent me on my way. I followed
up with him after a couple of weeks, and after a couple of months.
Each time he provided positive reinforcement, encouragement and some
good advice. I'm about 7 months in, very happy with the results, and
I've never been down for even a day. Highly recommended.

MIRACULOUS TRANSFORMATION Rated 10 out of 10
Working with the kettle bell has been an amazing journey for me. I
am a 68 year old woman who never did anything athletic in my life.
When I met Kerry at a workshop given by Pavel-he assigned her to me
because I couldn't even bend my knees due to advanced arthritis. I
started individual training with her and am now squatting to the floor,
swinging the 35 lb kettlebell with one hand, and lifting and walking
with a 20 lb weight. I must add is that I could never have done this
without her. She has been the best trainer I could ever have had.
Normally I can't even stand the idea of pushing myself beyond my capacity.
But there was something so wonderful about how Kerry started with
where I was, showed me what I was actually capable of doing, and worked
with me over time so that I moved into what I can do now naturally
and with grace, without ever having had a moment of pushing too hard.
I ended up falling in love with the way I was feeling and with my
exercise routine so I seldom miss it. And it keeps getting better.

World Class Instructors Rated 10 out of 10
Gregg and Kerry are both highly skilled world class instructors. Their
program design and content reflects their extensive knowledge and
experience. The quality of their instruction is second to none. Gregg
and Kerry's well organized and presented seminar format will take
you from novice to advanced both safely and quickly. I have seen other
kettlebell instructors perform and teach but I have not come across
anyone as professional, clear and concise as Gregg and Kerry.
Having worked in the health
and fitness industry as a training manager I have seen countless trainers
and instructors over the years but Gregg and Kerry stand out as exceptionally
skilled and talented professionals.

Outstanding Instruction for a broad spectrum of skills
Rated 10 out of 10
I first took a class with Gregg and Kerry at Sacramento's Learning
Exchange a couple of years ago. I was impressed with the Kettlebell
as a fitness tool, but I was thrilled with the quality of instruction,
thoroughness and accessability of the Gregg and Kerry. Since
that first course, I have taken three other classes with them and
arranged for one private session for a group of about ten friends
and family that ranged, in age, from 10 to 62, (the spread was even
wider than that in terms of fitness level). Gregg and Kerry consistently
met every individual at his or her level while fostering a very supportive
class environment where students were motivated by instructors and
peers to step up and do better. Finally, Gregg remains very responsive
in after class support, sharing insights on my personal workouts as
well.
Gregg and Kerry Kreiner-Althen
have exhibited a very high level of professionalism and skill in every
encounter and I highly recommend them to beginners and veterans alike.

Highly recommended Rated 10 out of 10
Gregg has been my kettlebell instructor for over two years. During
the first few months, I was seeing Gregg every other week. During
this time, Gregg embedded proper technique and got me hooked due to
his enthusiasm for Kettlebell training. I now train with Gregg once
a month. Knowing I will be seeing Gregg, motivates me to get in my
twice weekly workouts, and to continue to make progress.
Gregg, encourages me without
putting pressure on me, and over time has modified my training plan
based on my changing needs (strength, flexibility, endurance, a workout
I can do quickly, etc.)
Gregg is very knowledgeable
in both strength training and in increasing flexibility. I would recommend
him highly.

Gregg and Kerry were the best. From the moment the class began to
the very end their instructions were consistently clear and easy to
follow. Both succeed at producing a safe class and are able to articulate
what is necessary to achieve one's personal best/goals! I truly felt
at ease, as this was my first KB class! I would recommend their class
to anyone. From the pre-teen with his father to the man in his 80's
no one was left behind! Any one thinking of going, should. Just do
it you will not be sorry. You'll get hooked just like the rest of
us! Thank you Gregg and Kerry!

Excellent Stretching Techniques Rated 10 out of 10
I learned some unique stretching exercises from Greg, which cured
the shoulder and carpal symptons I was having. I still do these exercises
and they work really well. His stretching CD is great and I highly
recommend it. On top of it all, Gregg and Kerry are really nice people!

Gregg & Kerry Althen: underrated, world-class kettlebell
trainers. Rated 10 out of 10
I had the pleasure of attending Gregg & Kerry's kettlebell &
Joint Movement/Flexibility seminars in Denver earlier this year. I
couldn’t give them a higher recommendation; they
are excellent instructors and wonderful people.
Gregg & Kerry gave
personal, detailed instruction to everyone from female senior citizens,
to combat athletes, to thirteen-year-old boys, and everything in between.
Before the seminar I had never even trained with kettlebells before,
with Gregg's instruction I was able to one hand clean and press 70
lbs!
One of the advantages of
training with these two is that while one instructs, the other is
able to demonstrate proper movement and technique. This is extremely
helpful. They are also able to give an unusual amount of personalized
attention in a large group setting.
Gregg and Kerry could teach
a brain-dead squirrel monkey how to use a Kettlebell, & deserve
to be as well known as other, more prominent trainers. If they do
a seminar in your area, do not miss out on a chance to train with
them.

A+ INSTRUCTORS ANYTIME Rated 10 out of 10
We met Gregg and Kerry a few years ago and were very pleased with
the results that our family has had. The classes are fun and very
informative. Our family of five ranges in age of 38 to 4 and we all
felt very comfortable taking the classes Gregg and Kerry provided.
They are more like family than instructors. Anytime we have a question
or need advice, they are just a click away and we have our answers
very quickly. We would definitely recommend to anyone that has a desire
to improve their fitness, take a class or two from Gregg and Kerry.
Keep up the good work!

AWESOME INTRUCTORS
Rated 10 out of 10
What a great way to spend my 60th birthday!! I took my first kettlebell
class from Gregg and Kerry in Sacramento, out on the lawn at Cottage
Park. I did both the introductory, and the follow-up class for a total
of 4.5 hours! Gregg and Kerry showed me some basic stretching, and
proper warm-up exercises. Something so basic, yet I overlook this.
They are very skilled trainers. There were all levels at the training,
and they managed to focus on each individual, and provide and overall
great environment. I also purchased their Flexation CD, a great ongoing
warmup program I will continue to follow. Thanks again Kerry and Gregg
for a great experience.

Kerry, Kerry Extraordinary!
Rated 10 out of 10
That's what I call her, anyway. When it comes to kettlebells, she's
THE BEST! You could not ask for a warmer, more personable instructor
who really LISTENS to you. She is a master at meeting you where you
are & then based on your own needs & lifestyle, works with
you to design the perfect kettlebell program for you. Along with working
with Kerry one-on-one, I've had the pleasure of attending a class
with Gregg & Kerry together. I call them the Dynamic Duo of Kettlebells.
They are fluid in working with a group & have an uncanny ability
for successfully work with folks at many different levels of training
at once. Just watching Kerry 'work' the 'bells' is poetry in motion.
I'm aspiring to that graceful ease with my own kettlebells...so bring
it on, Kerry!

A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE! Rated 10 out of 10
Gregg and Kerry provide a very informative and enjoyable kettlebell
experience. They deliver a well thought out program to instruct anyone
from beginners, to those more in the intermediate range. Attention
to detail, especially regarding safety practices, was very key in
their instruction. I personally appreciated that they always kept
safety and technique the priority in all of the exercises demonstrated.
A very pleasant pair to learn from, I highly recommend taking their
class. You'll be sore for days, so "enjoy the pain!"

detailed,pleasant,knowledgable Rated 10 out of 10
I like so many have taken a couple classes with Greg and Kerry and
the classes were different , but their command of knowledge for the
subject was top rate and the key that keeps me coming back is their
ability to share their knowledge in the most comfortable manner. Their
technique is showed in their capable bodies. They practice what they
preach and as choirmember I'm singing at the top of my lungs with
a body to show!

Gregg,
I wanted
to take a moment to thank you and let you know how much I appreciated
having the opportunity to go through my kettlebell training with you.
Without your expertise, I would not be making the injury-free progress
I am currently enjoying. Looking back, I can't imagine embarking on
this exercise protocol without having an expert at my side. On the
surface, kettlebells appear to be a very simple form of exercise,
and in a sense they are, but it is the little things that must be
mastered in order to get the most out of them. While the books and
videos are certainly helpful, I believe the average person will progress
much faster and be far less likely to get injured if they have somebody
as highly qualified as yourself to teach them the various moves. As
someone who has had some back problems in the past, I had some concerns
that I might suffer a re-injury doing some of the movements. I'm convinced,
however, that it was your training and insistence on perfect form
that has allowed me to workout without any problems.
One
of the great things about kettlebells is their convenience. I keep
mine tucked in the corner of my bedroom where they can't be ignored.
I don't have to worry about getting to a gym every day. Instead, I
just pick up a bell, do a few swings to loosen up, and before I know
it I'm drenched in sweat and feeling great. It's a great way to start
the day!
Good
luck in California. Our loss is their gain.
Sincerely,
Steve
